The Office of the Planning Regulator has asked the Department of Housing to reverse the decision

In January the County Council voted to build the centre.

The Echo reports that last month County Councillors voted 42 for and 4 against to amend the County Development Plan from 2014 to include plans for the East Cork retail village.

However last friday the OPR wrote to the Minister of State Damien English asking him to intervene on the grounds that premature changes to the 2014 Development Plan should not be allowed.
