Locals in Skibbereen say the success of their Olympic rowers has put the town firmly on the map.
Already a popular holiday destination, the West Cork town is now known as the home of Irish rowing.
Paul O'Donovan and Fintan McCarthy secured gold in the early hours of yesterday morning, while their Skibbereen Rowing Club teammate Emily Hegarty won bronze on Wednesday.
The headlines have resulted in a renewed spotlight on Skibbereen...
Something General Manager of the West Cork Hotel Barry Looney told RedFM News, could be great for tourism and hospitality.
"Any footage that has been show in the media is showcasing West Cork and the beautiful coast down here, and you're getting to meet and talk to some of the characters down here so it's a nice place to be for the aesthetics and for the characters in the town.
"Hopefully we can get hospitality up and running more to facilitate this.
"We had people staying during the week asking about the rowing club and about Ludgate, two things they've heard about to drag them to Skibbereen.
"Absolutely the rowers have put Skibbereen on the map."
