The Royal Cork Yacht Club is celebrating 300 years today.
It was founded in 1720.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cork TD Simon Coveney marked the occasion with a small ceremony on Haulbowline Island this morning, the home of the original 'Water Club of the harbour of Cork' as it was known in 1720.
A new Royal Cork Yacht Club Exhibition will run at the Sirius Arts Centre in Cobh until December.
While the Cork300 events which had been planned to celebrate the clubs birthday have been postponed until July 2021 due to Covid-19.
