The Department of Education has proposed that two classes from Owenabue Educate Together National School move to pre-fab classrooms on the Carrigaline Educate Together site while a new school is built
However the school principal says the area is far too conjested and the sites are too far apart and will prove to be disruptive for parents as well as unfair on children who are isolated from their school.
Sinn Fein's Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire raised the matter in the Dail this morning and said the temporary arrangement is not a solution in the interim
"I would ask for a written response now from the Department in relation to the current state of play in the next day or two. As to the temporary arrangements right because that's where things are at. We're fully aware of the permanent proposals, that's not the concern that arises at the minute, the concern that raises at the minute is in terms of the interim proposals for the school to be split across a very busy heavily trafficked town".
