An exchange student who was one of the first responders to a sword attack in Cobh at the end of March sat his Leaving Certificate exams yesterday.
Arian Hanitzch from Germany trained in First Aid and as a volunteer firefighter before coming to Coláiste Éamann Rís as an exchange student.
The 18 year old helped Ian Baitson when he was attacked in Cobh until paramedics got to the scene to treat Mr Baitson who later died in hospital.
