An 8-year-old girl who was killed in Co.Wexford on Sunday will be laid to rest today. Malika Noor Al Katib died following a stabbing incident at her home in New Ross, Co Wexford three days ago.

Over 500 people are facing homelessness in Cork this Christmas. Focus Ireland is calling for as many donations as possible, as homeless figures have jumped by 47 per cent in the last four years. The charity says many families will spend a second Christmas without a home - with 200 children in Cork and Kerry accessing emergency accommodation.

More than six in ten say a row has broken out over a board game at Christmas. Almost half of rows are caused by cheating or by players 'making up new rules'. One in ten say a disagreement over a boardgame has led to the breakdown of a relationship.
