Ministers in the Department of Transport will meet with ferry companies today, to discuss the ongoing closure of Holyhead Port. Junior Minister James Lawless says we 'need to plan for the worst' in case the port is unable to re-open as hoped, on Thursday - following damage from Storm Darragh.

A man in his 30's, arrested in relation to an assault on two off-duty Gardaí - remains in custody this morning. They were attacked on Dame Street in Dublin city centre at about 1.30 on Saturday morning.

A council in the US has asked its residents to stop sticking googly eyes on the city's art. The comedy eyes have appeared on statues and murals around the city of Bend, Oregon, causing a viral sensation. However authorities say while the googly eyes may cause a laugh, they're costing a lot of money to remove.
