The two women who died following a head on collision in Mallow on Mother's Day have been named locally. 64-year-old Mary Coughlan of Kingsquare in Mitchelstown and 41-year-old Susan O'Sullivan from Beechwood Park in Mallow were both pronounced dead at the scene after the two car collision on the N72 at quarter to 4 on Sunday afternoon.

10 people were arrested during a large scale garda operation in Hollyhill yesterday. Members of the Armed Support Unit, Dog Unit and Stolen Vehicle Unit were involved in searches in the city yesterday morning at St. Anthony's Park. During the course of the operation, an imitation firearm was seized along with €4,500 in cash, and quantities of cocaine, tablets and cannabis herb.
