- The Justice Minister says an increase in penalty points for speeding could be a way to deal with the rise in the number of road deaths. Gardaí have completed their latest National Slow Down Day campaign , after checking over 142 thousand vehicles for speeding since 7 o clock yesterday morning. During the speed checks, Gardaí caught a motorist driving 151 kilometres per hour in a 120 kilometre zone on the M8 at Ballinglanna in North Kilworth.
- A new study into cyberbullying has found that 40 percent of secondary school pupils have experienced harassment online. The report from CyberSafeKids also found 1 in 4 kids between the ages of 8 and 12 have experienced cyberbullying.
- The Minister for Education is being called on to complete a long overdue review into school bus services around the country. Hundreds of children are without a school bus place this term, after Bus Éireann said ‘difficulties had arisen’ with some routes.
- From today refugees arriving here from Ukraine will be housed primarily in tents. Its because of a chronic shortage of alternative accommodation.
