- Four more people are now facing formal charges over the record cocaine haul off the Cork coast last week. The men who were arrested after the drugs were recovered from the MV Matthew cargo ship, are due before a sitting of Mallow District Court at 10 o'clock this morning.
- Sinn Féin is calling for childcare fees to be cut by two thirds. In a motion going before the Dáil later today, the party urges the government to provide additional funding to boost wages and stop staff leaving the sector.
- Pension and social welfare hikes, an increase to the renters credit and an extra lump-sum payment of the fuel allowance could all be on the way on budget day. The government's yet to sign off on the full package of measures to be announced next Tuesday.
- A survey has ranked RTE as one of the least trustworthy companies in the country by consumers. RTE hit the headlines earlier this year due to the payment scandal surrounding some of its top stars.
