The National Emergency Coordination Group is meeting again today to monitor the severe weather.
It's expected to meet every day this coming week, to discuss how to manage the arctic blast which will last until Friday.
The group is ''confident'' schools and public transport will stay open.

The RSA will provide a car seat fitting service in Supervalu stores in Cork this week.
It comes as they say that over half of children's car seats are not fitted correctly.
The "check it fits survey" showed that while over half of car seats were fitted incorrectly, 30% needed a major adjustment to assure the child was safe and secure. 67% of car seats had twisted seatbelts and loose fittings.

In the UK, Four children are in hospital after falling through an icy lake and ending up in cardiac arrest.
West Midlands Police haven't confirmed the numbers of those involved - but it's been reported there may have been up to six youngsters in the frozen water in Solihull.
Emergency teams have continued to search the lake overnight.

Cork Airport expects to welcome over 135,000 passengers between now and January 6th.
The airport has experienced its busiest year since 2019, with over 2.2 million passengers forecast for the full year, and is on track to become the first state run airport to recover passenger traffic to pre pandemic levels.
