Road users are urged to use extreme caution on the roads this morning following heavy rain overnight.
An Orange Weather Warning is in place for Cork until midnight tomorrow, with torrential rain and thundery downpours expected.
Both City and County Councils are warning motorists to expect spot flooding on low lying areas and in areas that are prone to flash floods.
The Road Safety Authority are also advising people not to drive through floods and say the water may appear shallower than it really is.

The Central Bank looks set to relax it's mortgage lending rules - and is expected to announce the move today.
It's current set of rules were introduced in 2015 in an effort to avoid a repeat of the property bubble.
At the moment people can borrow three-and-a-half-times their salary.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney will return to Belfast today to complete a speech that was cut short by a hoax bomb threat in March.
Simon Coveney was speaking at a peace-building event at the Houben Centre on March 25th and had to be escorted from the building due to a suspected UVF bomb threat.
During his visit today, he will speak with Independent unionist MLA Clair Sugden on developing North-South relations.

The Peter McVerry Trust says the winter eviction ban will give it time to 'slow down' and add more homeless beds
It was announced yesterday a no-fault eviction ban will keep tenants in their homes over the winter months.
Around two and a half thousand tenancies would have ended had the ban not been put in place.
