High winds are expected to continue over Cork until this evening
The orange rain alert has now expired however the wind alert is in operation until 5pm with the entire county under a status yellow warning for wind and rain until midnight tonight.
Intense rainfall and high winds across the day led to power outages and hazardous driving conditions across the city and county due to debris and surface water.
Speaking to RedFM News Gerry Murphy from Met Eireann says Storm Agnes is moving up the country now with the storm centre over Connaught and Ulster this evening
"We still have very windy weather for much of the afternoon and into this evening. In terms of the rainfall the heaviest of the rainfall has died out but there will be some heavy showers later on. The wind will continue to be very strong, as we go through this afternoon, then as you move on to this evening the winds will gradually ease somewhat but nonetheless it is going to continue windy"
