3 people have been brought to hospital after a crash on the South Ring Road.

The three car collision which happened between the Sarsfield and Togher exits heading eastbound on the N40 is causing major traffic delays.

Gardaí, Cork City Fire Brigade and the National Ambulance Service were alerted to the crash shortly before 9 o'clock this morning.

3 people were taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries and the road will reopen once Gardaí carry out a technical examination of the scene.
