The dogs were found by Gardaí carrying out a search of wasteland yesterday morning.
Officers from the Armed Support Unit, the Serious Crime Unit and Community Engagement officers from Anglesea Street and Blackrock Garda stations were involved in the operation.
Garda Press say the dogs were seized due to poor health and suspected lack of licences and microchips.
Local Gardaí are liaising with the CSPCA and the City Council as part of their investigation.
