Tidal flooding is expected in the city shortly.
High tide will be at 5.28pm this evening.
Residents and Businesses on low lying areas such as Lavitt's Quay, South Terrace and South Mall should protect their property.
Speaking to RedFM News, Cork City Council's Director of Operations David Joyce is appealing to motorists to avoid flooded areas:
"We would ask people to drive with extra care and attention. If the road looks substantially flooded. Do not drive into it and take an alternative route. We don't expect significant flooding across the roads, there will however be ponding at the side of roads."
