Cork City Hospitals Children's Club are asking people to wear a Christmas hat and spread Christmas cheer by donating to the charity
Fundraising efforts have been decimated due to the ongoing restrictions imposed by the COVID19 outbreak.
It means the annual trip to Disney for children in hospital wasn't possible however the charity sent eight families on a 'staycation' trip - two of these children have since passed away.
Speaking to RedFM News Chairperson of the charity John Looney says he's hoping today's fundraising efforts will allow them to keep the trips going for children:
"We must book and prepare EuroDisney the same as any holiday. So what I'm really afraid of is not so much next year-we will be able to go next year. It's the year after because we need to have the funds ready and available for next March to book pre-season for the year after. We don't want to be stuck in this scenario next year, but we just don't have the funds to go. We're doing this for the last 25 years and I don't want to break that."
