There is an abundance of events, shows and just general fun taking place throughout Cork this weekend as part of the Jazz Festival.
So much so it can almost seem a bit overwhelming! Well, Guinness have compiled their own top 10 list of things to see and do over the course of the Bank Holiday weekend to make sure that you don’t miss a thing.
As Guinness themselves say:
“From jazz enthusiasts to festival goers to music fans and gig lovers, Guinness Cork Jazz Festival has something for everyone. Here’s to the first big festival in 18 months, here’s to the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival.”
So, get your jazz pants on and ready those hands because the next few days are going to be filled with jazzy madness.

- The Big Fringe
If you’re in the market for some free events, then take yourself down to The Big Fringe. This is where some of the most random, unpredictable and fun events take place. The events are taking place across Cork, and in Kinsale, and are all aimed at extending the festival experience for locals and visitors alike.
The city’s Victorian Quarter will stage a curated Jazz Street Festival for the first time ever this year and open top Big Jazz Bus will also make a welcome return to the festival.
As part of the Beat on the Street, visiting international bands will tour through the city throughout the weekend and will perform on the super dome stage at Emmet Place as part of Jazz on the Plaza. (LINK)
2. Follow the jazzy brick road with Guinness Music Trail
Be like a new and improved version of Doherty and follow the jazzy brick road this weekend. Make your weekend like a movie with the Jazz Music Trail - the city come alive with the sights and sounds of this music trail that spans over 60 Cork venues and leads you to every corner of the city. 3. Naked Animals live at Coughlan’s on Douglas St.
If you want to add a little bit of punk to your jazz weekend then why not head down to Coughlan’s on Douglas Street where you can catch Punk Rock band Naked Animals.
4. Get deep into it at Deep South on Grand Parade

5. Ease into the evening with HousePlants at Cypress Avenue
Two of Ireland’s top artists have formed to create the outstanding HousePlants. Bell X1 frontman Paul Noonan and innovative atmospheric producer Daithí.

6. Chill out at The River Lee
If you want stunning views with a jazzy atmosphere, then look no further than the River Lee hotel. The perfect balance of city and nature, the views will take your breath away, while the music serenades your soul.
The New York style bar along with their relaxed Mediterranean feel throughout makes it the perfect spot for some people watching this bank holiday.

7. The terrace at Electric
After undergoing a major revamp the South Mall bar and restaurant unveiled a swish new Cocktail Room paired with gorgeous river views and Instagrammable décor. You won’t want to miss it.
8. Taste the world’s great goujon at Sober Lane
Believe it or not but Sober Lane is home of the world’s greatest goujon! If you don’t believe us you’ll just have to try it yourself; and if that’s not enough of a reason to go, then check out the bespoke Guinness artwork that will be unveiled this weekend!
9. Be the first to see what’s new at Tuckey Street
Tuckey Street is the new kid on the block with their new 3 story venue. Formally The Bowery, Tuckey Street will be serving delicious street food and drinks all weekend.
10. Add a little bit of quirkiness to your jazz at Sketch, Imperial Hotel Cork’s new cocktail bar
The stunning Imperial Hotel recently launched a vibrant cocktail bar SKETCH just in time for the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival. For that little extra bit of quirkiness, you can indulge in their famous “Birdcage” sharing platters.
