A brand new Tourist Information Point is to open in North Cork.
A first for Doneraile, the new office opens at the Café Townhouse on Main Street, ideally placed to direct visitors to the extensive range of things to do and places to see in the region.
The Tourist Information Point is supported by Cork County Council and managed by the proprietors of Café Townhouse, Myra Ryall and Ray O’ Callaghan.
On a recent visit to the new tourist point, Deputy Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Deirdre O’ Brien said:
‘’I warmly welcome the establishment of Doneraile’s new Tourist Information Point, which will assist visitors and encourage them to extend their stay in the Doneraile area. The tourism offering of the Ballyhoura region is excellent, with world-class attractions such as Doneraile Estate, an abundance of heritage sites, fantastic outdoor recreation facilities, and a range of activities such as water sports and mountain biking to appeal to adventure lovers. We look forward to collaborating with Café Townhouse to reaffirm North Cork as a leading tourism destination in Cork County.’’
The opening of Doneraile’s Tourist Information Point coincides with the recent extension of the Fáilte Ireland Brand ‘Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands’ to now include the Ballyhoura area, ensuring that the tourism potential of the area is maximised. This brand focuses on being active in nature and the tourism offering of this area, in particular active visitor experiences such as the Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trails, align perfectly with the brand proposition."
