Reaction from the City and County following this morning's flood
The City Council's Flood Assessment Team says flood waters have receded although there is some pooling on Oliver Plunkett Street and the surrounding streets.
Council crews, Civil Defence and the Fire Service are on site with jet vacs and pumps to remove water from the streets and businesses.
Speaking to RedFM News, Gordon Walker of 45 Clothing on Oliver Plunkett Street says he woke up to a flooded store:
Eileen from Dulce Bun House told RedFM News that they've had several offers of help since the flood waters hit their shop:
There has been tidal flooding in Castletownbere, Bantry, Timoleague, Courtmacsherry, Kinsale, Carrigaline, Crosshaven, Cobh, Whitegate, Aghada and Youghal.
Cork County Council roads crews are working with the Fire Service to assist as the waters subside.
Speaking to RedFM News Paul Harrington from Harrington's Hardware in Castletownbere says business owners have been assessing the damage since high tide passed:
