Traders in Cork say people here on Leeside made a huge effort to shop local this year.
The impact of the pandemic was felt by many retailers and businesses across Cork who were forced to shut their doors on different occasions due to the restrictions imposed as a result of the COVID19 outbreak.
It led to calls for an extra effort to shop local by Cork business organisations ahead of the festive season.
Speaking to RedFM News Noreen Houlihan of 'Individual Gifts' in Cobh says people made every effort in the town to do just that, and the town has come together this year in solidarity.
"The whole town is coming together, which is lovely to see.
"There's a great atmosphere around the town. In the evening you have Addicted, a new place which is open until 10pm every evening serving coffee and crepes.
"And then you have Truly Scrumptious over on the promenade, so they're open as well, and you have people coming to Cobh just to see the lights."
