Transport for Ireland's real time departure app for bus services has been described as "not fit for purpose"
The comments come as County Councillors in Cork are to write directly to the Transport Minister and the National Transport Authority to raise the poor quality of the bus service in the county
Commuters say the bus service is so unreliable that they have been forced to bypass it and make alternative arrangements to get to college or work
Crosshaven based Fianna Fail Councillor Audrey Buckley told RedFM News that issues with the TFI App in particular need to be urgently resolved
"The app - that isn't fit for purpose. It will say the bus is coming in five minutes, and then five minutes passes and all of a sudden you'll see cancelled. You know when there's a young girl waiting at a bus stop in the city and the app is telling her it's going to be there in five minutes and then it's cancelled a 10pm or 10.30pm - the app has to be sorted and looked at"
