Travel agents say Aer Lingus may announce a seat sale as the pay row with their pilots looks set to be resolved
The pay dispute escalated after pilots refused to work overtime and began a work to rule a fortnight ago which led to 573 flights being grounded
Pilot's union IALPA is now recommending acceptance of a Labour Court recommendation of a 17.75 percent pay rise
The uncertainty around flights made passengers hesitant to book with the airline
Angela Walsh of the Irish Travel Agents Association says the extra capacity means Aer Lingus will be keen to sell those seats quickly
"Because of of the lack of confidence in Aer Lingus over the last couple of weeks, people have not been booking so that is naturally going to feed into a situation where there will be capacity available. So Aer Lingus will be very keen to sell those seats and sell them as quickly as they can. Logic, would say that, because of this capacity, that there has to be great value at the moment"
