It's after the Council criticised issues raised in a report by the Children's Ombudsman as "nowhere near as simple as outlined," according to the Irish Examiner.
The No End in Site report from May described conditions at the halting site as 'deplorable' and found that children living there suffered from respiratory conditions at a higher rate than the general population.
City Hall wrote a six page letter to Minister of State Peter Burke in the wake of the report to say they have always been keen to meet the needs of Spring Lane residents, especially children.
Speaking to RedFM News, John from the Traveller Visibility Group says the city council should take the recommendations of the report on board:
"We would encourage City Council to look at the those reports, take on board the recommendations that are outlined in the report and really put their energy into working with Traveller organisations and Travellers that are living on the site and delivering on those recommendations, and put the energy behind that, as opposed to disputing the recommendations or findings of the report"
