Tributes have been paid to Cork mathemtician David Flannery, who has passed away at the age of 71.
Mr Flannery helped to found what was then Cork Institute of Technology's Engineering prograame and maths deaprtment, which he headed for a considerable amount of time.
He is predeceased by his first wife Elaine, and is survived by his wife Ann and his five children, among them Cork musician Mick Flannery.
