Two wheelchairs, specifically designed for use on beaches, can't be used at the West Cork beach for which they were bought.
More than 5,000 euro was raised by Clonakilty Camogie Club - so people with disabilities would have better access to Inchydoney Beach
However, today's Irish Examiner is reporting that the beach wheelchairs have not been used since they were bought last year because there is nowhere to store them overnight.
The paper says officials from the County Council will not allow a wheelchair to be stored in the lifeguard’s hut, and planning permission would be required if a storage unit for the wheelchairs were to be built.
