Two new community nursing units are set to be delivered in Cork by 2024.
The Echo report that the developments at sites in St. Finbarr's Hospital and in Midleton will deliver more than 150 news community nursing beds.
Construction is set to begin at the 105 bed development at St Finbarr's before Christmas, with work due to commence on the 50 bed facility in Midleton early next year, with both set to be completed by the end of 2024.
Both units will have both long and short stay beds for older persons, with the development at St Finbarr's including dementia specific beds in three ten bed households.
