Two people have been rescued from a boat which caught fire off the West Cork coast.
The 20 foot pleasure craft reported a fire on board around half a mile off shore from Duneen Point in Clonakilty Bay.
The Courtmachsherry RNLI lifeboat rushed to the scene at half 3 yesterday afternoon and the fire on board was quickly put out.
The lifeboat's Vincent O'Donovan describes what happened:
"The lifeboat took the casualty in tow and brought it to Duneen - to the safety of Duneen Strand. And the two onboard, including the casualty, were taken by the Inchydoney Life Boat back to safe terrain in Ring. And thank God, all was well".
