Two units of Cork City Fire Brigade attended the scene of a fire at a commercial premises in Mayfield.
Emergency services were alerted at 13:35 and the last unit returned to base as 14:40 once the matter was safely dealt with.
Smoke from the blaze near the Fob and Gill affected the North Ring Road and the Old Youghal Road.
Motorists were asked to take extra care as smoke impeded visibility.
