A Yellow Wind Warning is active from midnight tonight also until 6am tomorrow with road users warned to expect difficult driving conditions and debris such as fallen branches on the road.
Met Eireann forecaster Liz Walsh told RedFM News that winds could reach speeds of up to 100km/hr overnight
"So we've got a wind warning kicking in, at midnight tonight for the South Coast, and we can expect gusts of 90 to 100 kilometres per hour possible overnight, especially in the vicinity of the coast. So, that kind of wind can cause an impact with like you know branches down and you know some flying debris around and so, very difficult to travel conditions"
