It will take up to two years to repair all the roads and bridges damaged across Cork during Storm Babet last October
The infrastructure in East Cork was worst hit when the storm hit with the repair costs at 300 locations across the county estimated at €50 million
A total of €26 million has been allocated to Cork County Council for the repair work over a two year period which is roughly half of what is needed
Niall Healy, Director of Roads and Transportation with the County Council, told RedFM News that the shortfall in funding means some roads will not reopen for at least 12 month
