The Sanctuary Fellowship Scheme is the first of its kind in Ireland and is open to students and staff members from third level institutes outside Ireland who are at risk due to conflict or human rights violations.
UCC will provide 6 people with a support package including a start-up grant and monthly salary for six months and will also pair them with a mentor.
The college has also launched a free 3-day course for Ukrainian students who have recently arrived in Ireland.
The course will cover topics like life in Ireland for young adults, conversational English and a tour of Cork.
The courses will run from the 19th of April until June 2nd and students most be at least 18 years old.
