The Students Union in UCC are calling for immediate Government support after their food bank ran out in 50 minutes.
Over 100 students queued for food yesterday as the UCC Students’ Union reopened its on-campus food bank for the first time since 2019.
Members of the Students Union then took to Social Media to call on the Government for help and want the cabinet to return to UCC to meet with them to hear about the problems facing students.
Soaring accommodation costs, including rent and utility bills are being blamed for many students going hungry.
