University College Cork spent nearly €30,000 on security and lawn repair after the occupation of the Quad during a pro-Palestine protest
The group set up camp and occupied the Quad for six weeks between mid-May and late June
Up to 30 tents were pitched by students who demanded the college cut all ties with Israeli institutions
In a statement UCC says it incurred nearly €15,000 in extra security costs to ensure the protest was conducted safely and an additional €14,000 was spent on repair of the lawns and additional maintenance after the occupation
