It comes as residents living in the vicinity of the college say house parties are already ongoing and they fear any Freshers Week format will further encourage this type of activity.
The residents of Magazine Road and Surrounding Areas say the decision to proceed with a virtual week goes against the sentiment of a meeting that was held last Friday between the college itself, residents and gardaí where all parties expressed concern about the implications of such an event in the midst of the pandemic.
