Uisce Eireann says it's determined to provide a safe water supply to residents of Cork, regardless of political pressure.
Taoiseach Simon Harris said he’d taken a personal interest in the matter of dirty water being supplied to residents in the northside of the city.
A Water Quality Taskforce was implemented at the start of this year, which includes increased water sampling, targeted flushing programmes and watermains replacement.
Speaking to RedFM news, Brian O'Leary, from Uisce Eireann says they know its an issue and want to provide a service the residents deserve:
"But I'd say even ahead of the political pressure on this we had the task force set up, you know, back at the start of the year because, again, based on the numbers that are coming through our contact center, we know it's an issue out there and look, we do want to provide a level of service to the customers of Cork city that they deserve".
