Uisce Éireann is under fire for refusing to attend a public meeting on the city's dirty water issue
Local politicians have described the stance as "beyond insulting"
The utility says it is not available to attend a special public meeting next week where the city's ongoing discoloured water problem is being discussed
Speaking to RedFM News Fine Gael councillor Shane O’Callaghan says Uisce Eireann's position is “outrageous”.
" If it's a situation whereby the management of a public utility are point blank, refusing to come before the Council or the representatives of the people to answer legitimate questions, then I do think the question should be asked as to whether they should continue in their public role because they have to be accountable to people"
