Nadiya Hnat is from Ternopil in Western Ukraine and has lived in Ireland since 2016.

She was one of dozens of people from the Ukrainian community in Cork who gathered at Bishop Lucey Park today for an anti-war protest organised by the Lord Mayor of the City.

Nadiya says her 24 year old nephew is a student in Ternopil and has refused to leave the area.

She told RedFM News that seeing the Ukrainian flag being lifted to the sound of her national anthem being sang was very emotional for her:
