UCC say the 3% increase for the next academic year is due to the rise in security and maintenance costs as well as refurbishment works.
The university say they are extremely conscious of the financial challenges faced by students and will review the increase for any students who receive student assistance funding.
Last year the price of campus accommodation at UCC's Mardyke Hall facility increased by 11.5%
