UP to 1,000 jobs could be created in Cork, with LIDL seeking planning permission to develop a regional distribution centre in the county.

The Echo report that the retailer plans to build a €200m centre in Little Island.

It's also reported that LIDL plans to open new stores in Carrigtwohill and Douglas among others across the county - LIDL currently has 22 stores in Cork.
