The South Gate Bridge in the city centre has been reopened to traffic.
The council had originally planned to close the bridge to all traffic until Monday, following a wall collapse near the river bank this afternoon.
Emergency Services, including the Gardaí, Fire Brigade and City Council attended the scene.
However, following an engineer's evaluation, the Council decided to reopen the bridge to vehicles.
Speaking to RedFM News, Gardaí confirmed that the footpath on the O'Sullivan's Quay side of the bridge will now be closed to pedestrians.
