Ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend there is an urgent appeal for blood donations.
The Irish Blood Transfusion Service say stocks of O Negative blood are down to two days, when normally there is a seven day buffer.
Operations Director with the IBTS Paul Mc Kinney says people can check their eligibility on the organisation's website:
"All our details for all our clinics around the country are on give blood.ie And there's an eligibility quiz that you can do there to see if you can give blood, this time round, but as I said, we're really looking at a big push O Negative Blood in particular, because we do need that extra 150 to get us through that weekend."
