A vigil will be held in Cork later today in memory of the murdered British trans teenager, Brianna Ghey.
The 16-year-old from Warrington, in Cheshire was stabbed to death in a local park last Saturday afternoon.
Two teenagers, both aged 15 have been charged with her murder.
This afternoon's vigil in Daunt Square in the City begins at half past 12.
Speaking to RedFM News, co-founder of Trans+ Pride - the group organising tomorrow's vigil - Saoirse Mackin says violence against trans-people is rising:
"Violence against trans people is unfortunately on the rise over the last few years. We've seen that in statistics, from different types of violence, in particular murder. So murder, for example, of trans people in 2022 reached 327 trans people around the world - which is very, very high".
