Una teamed up with Eve McDowell from Galway after they were both subjected to horrific stalking campaigns by men they barely knew
Their decision to speak out about their experiences, in which they both came close to losing their lives, has resulted in the drafting of legislation to be introduced in the Seanad in the autumn.
Stalking is not an offence under Irish Law, and in April Una Ring and Eve McDowell launched this campaign for the introduction of the stand-alone offence with longer sentences for the crime than those currently available to prosecutors.
