Wally the walrus, the mammal seen relaxing on a boat in west Cork during the summer, has been spotted in Iceland.
There had been concerns about his welfare, since it was 22 days since the last sighting.
But Seal Rescue Ireland says they received a notice yesterday of a similar looking walrus spotted in Iceland, 900 kilometres away from the last sighting in Ireland.
The group has confirmed, based on scars on his flippers, that it is Wally.
Seal Rescue Ireland say they're over the moon that he's alive and well and on his way home to the Arctic.
