A warning has been issued to farmers to ensure their tractors are parked up securely at night following a number of GPS device thefts particularly in North Cork
The thieves are stealing the GPS devices which are fitted to tractors to map terrain and can cost in the region of €3,000.
The devices are widely used by farmers in Ireland as they can help to increase yields.
Gardaí say the devices can be detached from tractors and they suspect that a gang is targeting contractors.
Farmers are being urged to remove the GPS device at night and store them in a secure location.
