Irish Water and Cork County Council have completed their network investigations which have resulted in the water supply being restored to the vast majority of customers in Crosshaven and surrounding areas. A tanker will remain on-site at “The Glen” Crosshaven as an alternative water supply. Eircode P43TN36.

This unplanned outage was caused by a burst on the network and an issue at the pumping station on Wednesday night/Thursday morning.

Niall O’Riordan, Operations Lead with Irish Water, said: “We again apologise for this unplanned outage. The vast majority of customers should have their water supply returned now. However, it may take a little bit longer for some customers on the edge of the network to have their water supply returned. The alternative water supply will remain in place until this afternoon at The Glen in Crosshaven.”

“As the water supply returns, there may be some temporary discolouration of water and occasionally issues such as internal airlocks. For helpful tips on what to do following an outage, including clearing airlocks, visit the Irish Water website at www.water.ie.“     Irish Water understands the inconvenience when bursts occur and thanks customers for their patience while we worked to restore normal supply to all impacted customers. The Irish Water customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries.
