Business owners in a West Cork town say it's vital infrastructure is put in place and maintained to avoid a repeat of the severe flooding witnessed in the past week.
A number of areas in West Cork including Rosscarbery, Clonakilty, Bantry, and Dunmanway experienced two devastating flooding incidents this week with parts of the N71 closed off. Many areas escaped a third flooding event last night when more rain fell however rain is forecast in the coming days and concerns are mounting.
Some businesses have been badly damaged while many properties have also been flooded, it has led to calls for immediate action to avoid any further damage to the local economy in West Cork which has already been left reeling from the impact of the COVID19 outbreak.
