A Cork based spirits company says if the US introduce tariffs on alcohol exports their business could be wiped out
President Donald Trump is planning taxes of 200 per cent on alcohol exported from the EU to America.
Meanwhile, from next month, the EU will tax American whiskey by 50 per cent.
CEO of Kinsale Spirit Company, Colin Ross, says President Trump's counter tariffs would be very damaging for his business in America:
"For us, the US is pivotal, very important for both sales and investment. We have just started a major campaign online. We spent a lot of money building up the brand, and are spending money on an ongoing basis. And you know, it could be wiped out in a matter of months"
