A Cork driving instructor says, “the busier the driving test centre, the lower the pass rate.”
RSA figures show big differences in pass rates around the country for people trying to pass their driving test.
The Wilton Test Centre in Cork City has one of the country's lowest pass rates at 44.4% while Skibbereen the pass rate is 47.4%
Speaking to RedFM News driving instructor Darren Mullane says the number of tests being conducted vary at each centre which leads to a big difference in pass rates
"In Tallaght they could have twenty examiners in the centre at any one time, and a lot of the smaller centres throughout the country would only have one examiner, if not two. Clonmel has two, Wilton has twelve examiners, whereas Mallow has two or three examiners. So obviously, the more driving tests that are done, the more passes and the more fails"
